Summer Sisters by Judy Blume

Summary: I never would have picked this up had it been put in my hand by a friend's mom. This is part of Blume's 'For Adults' titles.

My Review: The only place that one can read this book is lying on a beach, when your brain is so baked from the sun that this mindless fodder will be relaxing. In that setting (and ONLY that setting) this book might be enjoyable.

Well, I might be wrong. This book reads just like Blume's Are you there God, it's me Margaret. So Summer Sisters might also be of interest to twelve year old girls who think they are getting insight into womanhood. And it that case I can't recommend it either - because Summer Sisters, while harmless, is poorly written, unimaginative and about a couple of young girls who use sex to measure their progress into becoming adults.
