My Review of Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen

I was at the beach with my friend and luckily she had brought along some beach books. This was the first one that I picked up.

While diverting, and based on Kaysen's real life experience, it was difficult for me to feel sympathy with the author. She is very rich and not really mentally ill. But taken from that perspective, the story of someone who probably wouldn't be institutionalized today as she observes the inside of 1967 private mental health system and her well-to-do fellow wards can be very interesting, if only for that unique slice of live.
