- Animal House * John Belushi
Sure we have all seen this a million times, mostly on late night TBS, but this movie is so classic, its irresistable.
"That boy is a P-I-G pig"
- Billy Madison * Adam Sandler
This is a personal favorite. A late night college passout, this will have you dreaming in AS's voice and quoting this movie whenever possible. This movie has two of my all time favorite movie scenes: Billy dancing down the stairs to Culture Club's "I'll Tumble 4 Ya" and when Billy chases the penguin in a golf cart.
"No milk will ever be our milk."
- The Breakfast Club * Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall
"Hey, how come Andrew gets to get up? If he gets up, we'll all get up, it'll be anarchy!"
"Don't mess with the bull, young man. You'll get the horns."
- Casino * Robert Deniro, Sharon Stone
- Cat on a Hot Tin Roof * Paul Newman, Elizabeth Taylor, Orson Welles
It is very sad to see married people who aren't really in love and probably don't even like each other. And you can feel ET's pain. Paul Newman is delicious.
- Clueless * Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, Paul Rudd
Travis Birkenstock: "I would like to say this. Tardiness is not something you can do on your own.
Many, many people contributed to my tardiness. I would like to thank my parents for never giving
me a ride to school, the LA city bus driver who took a chance on an unknown kid and last but not
least, the wonderful crew from McDonalds who spend hours making those egg McMuffins
without which I'd never be tardy."
- Coal Minor's Daughter * Sissy Spacek, Tommy Lee Jones
Alright, so I admit that I like some country; it's all my Dad's fault. But how can you resist any movie with a song called "They don't make 'em like my Daddy anymore." LL has real girl power.
-
Dazed and Confused * J. London, Matthew McCoughnahey
Cynthia: "I'd like to quit thinking of the present, like right now, as some minor,
insignificant preamble to somethin' else."
- Fast Times at Ridgemount High * Judge Reinhold, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Phoebe Cates
"First of all Rat, you never let on how much you like a girl. "Oh, Debbie. Hi." Two, you
always call the shots. "Kiss me. You won't regret it." Now three, act like wherever you
are, that's the place to be. "Isn't this great?" Four, when ordering food, you find out
what she wants, then order for the both of you. It's a classy move. "Now, the lady will
have the linguini and white clam sauce, and a Coke with no ice." And five, now this is
the most important, Rat. When it comes down to making out, whenever possible, put on
side one of Led Zeppelin IV."
- Flashdance * Jennifer Beals
- The Fugitive * Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee Jones
- The Godfather * Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan
- The Godfather Part 2 * Al Pacino, Rober DeNiro
- Gone With The Wind * Vivien Leigh, Clark Gable, Olivia DaHavilland
- Goodfellas * Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci
- Kids * Chloe Sevingy
- L.A. Confidential * Kevin Spacey, Kim Basinger
- Lonesome Dove * Tommy Lee Jones
If you you knew me, you wouldn't think that a 6 hour western would be on this list, well, maybe you would.
- North to Alaska * John Wayne
- An Officer and a Gentleman * Richard Gere, Debra Winger
A wonderful love story set in a time when Richard Gere was sexy.
- Pride and Prejudice * Colin Firth
- The Quiet Man * John Wayne
- A Room With a View * Helena Bonham Carter, Julian Sands
E.M. Forster's lovely romance/slice of the times. Begins in Florence, Italy in the early 1900's. Good book too.
- Saturday Night Fever * John Travolta
- Singles * Matt Dillon, Bridget Fonda
- Sixteen Candles * Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall
- The Sound of Music * Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer
There is no man like the Captain (except of course R.B.) and Julie Andrews has some set of pipes.
- Stand By Me * River Phoenix, Wil Wheaton, Corey Feldman
- Sweet Dreams * Jessica Lange
- Swingers * Vince Vaughn
[on the way to Las Vegas]
Mike: Do you think we'll get there by midnight?
Trent: Baby, we're going to be up five hundy by midnight!
- The Thing Called Love * River Phoenix, Samatha Mathis, Dermot Mulroney
This is a wonderful little romance/big dreams/country-western feel-good kinda movie.
The music is great, R.P. is unbelievably gorgeous and S.M.'s singing at the end of the movie could break a girl's heart.
- Tommy Boy * Chris Farley, David Spade
- Urban Cowboy * John Travolta, Debra Winger
- Usual Suspects, The * Kevin Spacey
Have fun unraveling this mystery while enjoying Kevin Spacey.
- Wall, The * Bod Geldof
If you didn't see this movie when you were 16, then don't bother. But if you did...
- Where the Day Takes You * Dermot Mulroney
This movie is 'Kids'-ish, but you actually care about some of the kids.
In 'Kids', it was like "Wow, I can't believe kids like this really exist". In WTDTY,
its like "Wow, some of these people could be my friends. Some of these people could be me."
